Expressions of Praise Choir

Music Ministry Mission Statement:

The Music Ministry’s mission is to enrich the worship experience with praise and devotion in song. We are the ministry through which the soul and spirit sings to God the Father, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in devotion and praise with a song. We also assist the congregation in expressing our personal and communal love, adoration, faith, hope, fears, and emotions.

The music ministry helps to set and establish an atmosphere that is conducive to worship. Holy music brings the congregation into the presence of God so that each person can experience the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on a personal level.

The music ministry is an active, participatory, and integral part of the worship service. We are there to assist the worshipers in centering their thoughts upon God. For those who have not surrendered themselves wholeheartedly unto the Lord, it’s to prepare their hearts for the Holy Spirit through the Word of God to minister to them.

Purpose Statement:

Our purpose is to translate the word of God into sweet sounding music that will uplift and encourage the hearts and souls of everyone gathering in God’s house.

Scripture: Psalms 100: 1-2

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.”

About Us:

The Expressions of Praise choir renders music every Sunday morning during the 8am worship service. We are a family of individuals excited about spreading the word of God through music. We love worshipping God together and with others.

Every October on the first Sunday we celebrate our annual choir anniversary. During our celebration we sing praises to God at all 3 Sunday services.

Our choir also has a Hospitality Committee that recognizes our choir anniversary, support fellow choir members during loss of loved ones, hosts choir activities to promote unity, and serve our church family and guests during special occasions.

Choir rehearsals are held on Monday evenings as called by choir leadership. We are also a part of the St. Paul Baptist Church Mass Choir, a compilation of all SPBC choirs. In addition, we travel with our Pastor and render music as he spreads the word of God throughout the Dallas/FW Metroplex.
