COVID-19 and
St. Paul Baptist Church

THE STEPS WE’RE TAKING TO KEEP YOU SAFE AND HOW YOU CAN DO THE SAME.

What we are doing to keep our church family and community safe.

Controlled Entry/Exit

Our Worship facility will have controlled entry and exit areas.  Congregants will enter and exit at front entry door ONLY.   At the end of the worship service, we will exit orderly… each isle will be dismissed separately, from the back.  Please remain seated until your isle is dismissed by the Ushers.

Safe Seating

Seating in the Sanctuary will be set up to allow for 6 feet distance between congregants/families.  An Usher will escort you to an available seat.  If no Usher is available, please only sit where there is a marked seat “THIS SEAT AVAILABLE”.    Families that arrive together must sit together on an entire row where there a marked seat available.

Limited Capacity

At this time, only 50 congregants (preferably those that have been fully vaccinated) will be allowed in our in-person worship services.  There is currently no childcare available during our in-person worship services.   Children should be always accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Sanitization

The entire building is sanitized between and after services. Commonly touched areas, such as door handles, are also wiped down between and after services.  Hand sanitizer is available at entrance points.

Wearing Masks

Masks are required for all attendees.  Acceptable masks include cloth or disposable face coverings that cover the nose and mouth completely.  A face shield alone is not sufficient and requires that a mask be worn as well.  Masks must be always worn while in the building.

Limited Amenities

Refreshments and meals will not be offered during this time. Water fountains are closed. Restrooms are available and sanitized before and after services, with doors propped open where privacy allows. Capacity in the restrooms will be limited to 2 congregants at a time.

Healthy Hospitality

Welcomes are encouraged, but discourage physical contact including hugs and handshaking. Doors are propped open.  Bulletins or handouts will not be distributed, and we do not offer a stand and greet time during worship.

Communion

Communion will be served in pre-packaged containers and will be distributed before the service begins. Worshippers will be allowed to remove their masks to receive communion and asked to put them back on after participating in communion.

Contact-Free Greetings

Welcomes are encouraged, but discourage physical contact including hugs and handshaking. Doors are propped open. Bulletins or handouts will not be distributed, and we do not offer a stand and greet time during worship.

What Can You Do?

Maintain a six-foot distance between you and others. Remain in your seat unless absolutely necessary.

Masks that completely cover your nose and mouth are required at all times while inside the building or while outside waiting for worship.

If you don’t feel well or have been around someone who has been exposed to or diagnosed with COVID-19, please stay home and worship with us online.

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water isn’t available, use hand sanitizer.

Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. If you do not have a tissue, cough or sneeze in your upper sleeve, not your hands.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth and mask. Quickly dispose of anything that has come in contact with your face.
